“Lewis Hamilton was not pleased with Mercedes’ pace in Friday’s practice session and has pleaded for “desperately” needed car upgrades. The seven-time world champion was 0.928 seconds slower than Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, which he called a “kick in the guts” that was a “little bit difficult to take”.
